The Living Land

A Journey Through The Seasons

“Knowing that you love the earth changes you, activates you to defend and protect and celebrate. But when you feel that the earth loves you in return, that feeling transforms the relationship from a one-way street into a sacred bond.”

Robin Wall Kimmerer

We live within a yearly cycle that moves through light and dark, growth and rest, expansion and return. Even in modern life, where we can move through the seasons with very little disruption to our creature comforts, this rhythm still shapes us.

These workshops are an opportunity to slow down and notice what is happening in the natural world, and how that is reflected within you.

What this is

This is a series of seasonal, day-long workshops that invite you to reconnect with the changing rhythms of the year through time in nature, plant connection, and simple, hands-on practices.

Each workshop stands alone, or can be experienced as part of the full journey across the year.

The focus is not just on learning about the seasons or the plants, but on experiencing them directly—through the body, the senses, and your own awareness.

What you’ll experience

Each workshop takes place at a key point in the seasonal cycle and includes a balance of indoor and outdoor time.

Across the day, you can expect:

  • time spent outdoors connecting with the landscape

  • guided, sensory engagement with seasonal plants

  • herbal medicine making

  • simple practices for reflection and awareness

  • space for rest, conversation, and integration

The pace of the day is gentle and spacious, allowing you to meet the season in a way that feels intimate and grounded.

The seasonal journey

Across the year, we move through six distinct phases:

  • The Stirring — early signs of movement and return

  • The Unfurling — growth and opening

  • The Radiance — light, energy, and expression

  • The Ripening — fullness and maturity

  • The Descent — turning inward

  • The Stillness — rest and quiet

You can join at any point, or follow the full arc across the year.

What you’ll gain

Through these workshops, you will:

  • develop a deeper awareness of the seasonal rhythms around you

  • build a more personal connection with the natural world

  • learn how to recognise and work with a selection of seasonal plants

  • gain practical skills in simple herbal preparations

  • leave with something you’ve made by hand, and the knowledge to continue at home

Over time, this work can support a greater sense of grounding, clarity, and connection to self and the living land.
